
I was asked to come up with a set of immersive sonic environments for this innovative VR storytelling experience. Although there is no live version of the finished experience online (the video linked to on the webpage was made prior to audio integration), I can share binaural mix downs of one of the scenes here.
I used a combination of ambisonic recordings taken with a Zoom H3 VR, mixed in 3D with recorded sounds of wind, plastic packaging and bottles, polystyrene to create the ambiences that matched the scenes. It was made all the more difficult as the scenes hadn’t been fully created when I was commissioned to design the sounds, so I worked to mood boards and descriptions from the producers.
